SPROUT: VIOLENCE PREVENTION AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION PROGRAM
We have developed SPROUT to address the violence that has plagued many of the urban communities across the country and, specifically, in the Chicago metro communities.
This program is committed to building upon the assets of those it aims to serve by providing a long-term, culturally sensitive program for children and youth who are underserved, educationally and/or behaviorally at risk, or threatened by the ongoing violence in their neighborhoods. The initiative purposes to provide each individual with an action plan that builds their social-emotional IQ while improving their overall sense of well-being.
SPROUT GOAL: The fundamental goal of SPROUT is to equip each of our teens with the success principles and life skills they need to flourish. The critical areas of focus are academic success, conflict resolution, violence prevention, social-emotional intelligence, pro-social skill development, service learning, and the development of employability skills.
